Building 511 Upgrade and Structural Rebuild

Building 511 was constructed in 1942 using perimeter wood posts, open wood trusses, and non-bearing wood framed filler walls. The building was determined unsafe for occupation. Roof framing was replaced and a new pre-engineered superstructure capable of supporting the applied gravity and lateral loads was installed. The project included the following types of work: steel columns/trusses, new metal roof, wall and ceiling insulation, HVAC, electrical upgrades, new lighting, fire suppression, concrete repairs, remodel of restrooms, overhead door replacement, demolition work, compressed air, supports for a bridge crane, engineering, PBR metal roof and upgrade to interior walls.
